Long-term antiwrinkle system: Palmitoyl-Tetrapeptide 7 or Matrixyl(tm) stimulates collagen synthesis and dermal matrix repair
MATRIXYL 3000 is a synthetic pentapeptide (Palmitoyl-Lys-Thr-Thr-Lys-Ser) that mimics a fragment of Procollagen Type I by stimulating the matrix molecules (Collagen I, III and IV and Fibronectin) to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. In formulations, use 3-8% as recommended by the manufacturer.
Short-term antiwrinkle system: Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 or Argireline(tm) reduces mechanisms of wrinkle formation.
Argireline works through a unique mechanism which relaxes facial tension leading to a reduction in superficial facial lines and wrinkles with regular use. Argireline has been shown to moderate excessive catecholamines release. Anti-age hexapeptide developed with the combinatorial chemistry and high throughput screening techniques. It reduces the severity of wrinkles around the eyes, up to 17% after 15 days of treatment and up to 27% after 30 days of treatment. It reduces the depth of wrinkles on the face caused by the contraction of muscles of facial expression, especially in the forehead and around the eyes. It prevents skin aging induced by repeated facial movements caused by excessive catecholamine release. Argireline can be incorporated in cosmetic formulations such as emulsions, gels, serums, etc. where removal of deep lines or wrinkles in the forehead or around the eyes area is desired. The recommended use level is 3-10% of solution in order to obtain significant anti-wrinkle activity. Popular Botox-alternative wrinkle treatments on the market use as much as 15% Argireline!
